AMEX Membership Rewards Gift Card Redemption Sale (Apple, Nordstrom, BBB, Walmart, etc.)

There’s currently an extra discount when redeeming AMEX MR points for gift cards. In the redemption portal, you can filter by “sale” to find the discounted options. If you really have no better use for your points, Apple, Nordstrom, and BBB can still offer some decent redemption value. Note that redeeming points directly for cash gives very poor value and is not worth it. The best cash-like redemption option is covering travel purchases at 1c/p.

Walmart is not very compelling and gives poor value.

Apple is decent, with a redemption value of 1.06c/p.

BBB is decent, with a redemption value of 1.25c/p.

Nordstrom is also okay, with a redemption value of 1.06c/p.
