About This Big Offer
First, thanks to US Credit Card Guide for sharing the idea behind how to access this offer.
The application pages for these offers do not contain the familiar "who have had this card" language shown below, i.e. the usual once-per-lifetime welcome-bonus language.
We simplified the steps a bit, added some important notes, and are sharing them here. The steps below can be reproduced in Chrome; Safari requires security-setting adjustments.
The Easiest Steps (2020.1 Update)
- Go to Delta.com
- Copy the line below into the open Delta.com window. (If you copy it directly, the browser may strip out the initial "javascript" portion. We recommend copying everything after the leading "j", then manually adding the "j" back.)

[2019.9 Update] One of our authors also tested a no-lifetime-language application link and successfully received the welcome bonus again. Here is the DP and timeline.
- Previously had Delta Gold and had already received the welcome bonus; the card was closed in 2016
- Had not applied for any credit cards yet in 2019
- On 2019/8/23, closed one AMEX card. Was currently at 5 cards total, so one had to be closed before applying for a new one
- On 2019/8/23, used the method below, saw the Delta Gold big offer, and completed the application. The result was pending at the time. No popup.
- On 2019/8/24, approved automatically the next day
- On 2019/8/28, received the card and used Plastiq to pay $3,000 in tuition
- On 2019/8/30, 70,000 bonus miles posted to the Delta account, split into 33,000 + 37,000, which was a bit strange
Things to Watch Out For
- When applying, pay close attention to whether the once-per-lifetime bonus language appears at all (“has or had this card”). We recommend taking a screenshot in case AMEX revisits it later.
- There is some risk to this offer. If you are worried AMEX may cause trouble later, it is best not to apply.
- This offer is only suitable for people who have already received the bonus on this Delta card before. If you have never applied for a Delta card before, we do not recommend using this method. Big offers come around often enough, so it is better to wait than take this risk.
- Even though this is a special link, it still does not bypass AMEX’s limit of holding at most 5 credit cards, nor does it bypass the restriction of applying for only 1 AMEX card in the same family within 90 days. See: 23 Things You Should Know About AMEX Credit Cards
- The offer expires on 1/22
