AMEX Delta cardholders can now refer friends for these offers: if the friend is approved, the referrer can earn 15,000 miles + $100 if they hold the Delta Gold card, or 20,000 miles + $100 if they hold the Delta Platinum card. To trigger the $100, you need to make one Delta purchase within three months. Eligible purchases include onboard purchases, checked bag fees, award ticket taxes and fees, and gift cards. It looks like AMEX is really pushing referrals while also encouraging cardholders to spend more themselves.

Note that it does not matter which card you refer. If you hold the Gold card, the bonus is 15,000 + $100, and you can refer all Delta personal and business cards.

That said, the current welcome bonuses on these two Delta cards are indeed pretty solid, so if you need more miles, this could be a good time to apply.
