A new feature was recently added to the AMEX app that lets you jump directly into the AMEX app when making a payment with PayPal/Venmo. You can find it here:
It’s unclear what the success rate will be for payments initiated this way, but this is good news for people who don’t want to bother linking an AMEX credit card to PayPal/Venmo. Venmo itself is known to crack down on users who frequently remove and re-add credit cards, so it’s not clear whether this feature could create any conflicts. Looking forward to seeing some usage DPs.
