AMEX now allows new cards to directly add new Payment Account information or link an already connected Payment Account in the app. Previously, you had to jump from the app to the AMEX website and log in again before you could add it. This was especially inconvenient for users outside the US, since it required SMS or email verification.
This is a pretty solid improvement. One less verification step is always nice, and greater convenience is clearly the trend. A small thumbs-up for this change.
