According to the latest Centurion Lounge terms, after January 2023, Platinum Card holders will no longer be able to bring guests into Centurion Lounges for free. Bringing in a guest will cost $50. If you want complimentary guest access, you can regain this benefit by spending more than $75,000 on the Platinum Card. Personally, I think this change is necessary. After all, Centurion Lounges are one of AMEX’s flagship perks, and they are often overcrowded these days. Raising the bar a bit to improve service quality seems reasonable.
However, according to rumors, the annual fee on the AMEX Platinum Card may increase substantially. Personally, I probably would not keep this high-annual-fee card with all of its cumbersome reimbursement credits.
