[Updated 7/2021] The promo code from the earlier Prime Day Amazon APP ordering offer, worth up to $70 back, has now been issued! Be sure to tap claim coupon in the APP for it to become valid; it will not be automatically added to your account. However, to claim it, you must access it through the notification, and many people have found that they cannot see it. Below is the method I figured out after a lot of trial and error.

How to Claim the Coupon for APP Orders

About This Promotion

On the second day of Prime Day, the 22nd, orders placed in the Amazon app could earn a coupon rebate after reaching a certain spending amount, with the best offer being spend $600, get $70 back. Based on testing, even if you did not originally receive this offer, after downloading the Amazon app, you could still open the link below in your mobile browser, enter the offer page, and then search for and buy items from that page. As long as you met the spending requirement, the coupon would still be awarded in the end.

The coupon was issued on July 3 and must be claimed before it can be used. Because of an Amazon APP bug, the claiming process may be very frustrating, so here is my experience.

How to Claim and Use the Coupon

  • Open the APP and check whether notifications are enabled. Tap the last item in the bottom menu bar, then select setting.
  • To be safe, turn on all notifications first.
  • Switch to the account page, and you should see the little bell icon.
  • Tap it, and you should see the notification that your coupon has been issued.
  • Open the message and you will see the coupon there. You must tap get coupon to claim it.
  • Once claimed, you can start shopping.
  • When you place an order in the APP, the coupon will apply automatically. Remember that you need to buy items that are ship and sold by Amazon.
  • Remember that the coupon expires on July 24, so do not forget to use it.

What If You Cannot See the Bell Icon?

Many people ran into this issue: even after enabling notification and switching to the account page, the bell icon still does not appear. The worst part is that this notification can only be accessed through the bell icon, and there is no menu option for it. Right now, these are the available fixes:

  • log out and then login again
  • reinstall the APP
  • download the APP on another device and then sign in
  • a workaround I figured out myself

I only had one device, so after a lot of experimenting I found a way to temporarily make the bell icon appear. One important warning: once you see the notification, claim the coupon in one go, or you may not be able to see it again the next time. I really cannot believe Amazon let this bug happen. Here are the steps:

  • First, tap the bottom-right menu, then sign out from the Setting page.
  • Then select Manage APP Storage and clear the APP cache.
  • Then go to the homepage and find the sign in option. I tried signing in directly from the setting page and still could not see the bell icon; only the sign in option on the homepage worked.
  • After signing in, switch to the account/profile menu and the bell icon should appear.
  • Once you see it, tap the bell, open the coupon notification, and tap get coupon right away. If you back out midway, the bell icon in the upper right may disappear again.

If you place orders in the Amazon APP now, you can get $15 back when your total spending reaches $200, $25 back when spending reaches $300, and $70 back when spending reaches $600 (multiple purchases can be combined to reach the threshold)! Purchases must be made on June 22. Be sure to click the activation link below before you buy, or the offer may not trigger if you shop without reading this first.

  • Note: Based on my previous experience, just visiting the page was enough to get this offer; however, some people did not receive the credit and customer service said it was a targeted offer. So I recommend only buying if you already need the items—don’t force it just for the deal.

Here are the steps:

  • Download the Amazon APP (just search for it in your app store)
  • Open this link in your mobile browser: Amazon APP order offer activation link
  • Search for the items you want in the APP, add them to your cart, and check out (to be safe, it’s best to click the offer link above before each purchase)
  • Per the terms: gift cards, fees, taxes, and discounts do not count. Gift card purchases, fees, taxes, discounts, gift wrap and shipping and handling costs are excluded when determining the total amount spent. Customers will not receive credit for cancelled or returned orders.
  • The rebate gift card will be issued on July 3, 2021, and you can view and activate it in the APP. You will receive an Amazon app notification to redeem your coupon on or before July 3rd, 2021. The fastest way to get notified is to turn on app notifications using the instructions below.
  • The coupon you receive can only be used on items that are Sold and ship by Amazon, and it will expire on July 24, so don’t forget to use it.
