Right now, if you add a new card from a credit card issuer to your Amazon account as a payment method, you may get either $20 OFF $20.01 or $10 OFF $10.01. Similar offers have appeared before for Discover and Citi cards. You can try the link below to see whether you can activate the offer. I personally am 0/3. New Accounts Seem to Work 100%

According to reader DP reports, newly created Amazon accounts seem to have a 100% chance of activating this offer. Since this is $20 OFF $20.01, you can pick an item that costs around $20 and it is basically free. Or you can buy a third-party gift card for $25, which is effectively paying $5 for a $25 gift card. If you create a new Amazon account, you should be able to activate the offer using the link below.

Citi Offer (Expired)

[Expired] Citi also had an add-a-card offer. New accounts likely had a 100% chance as well. All three of my accounts that had removed Citi cards long ago received it, so you can also try removing your card and testing again. The offer ended on December 31.

Risk Warnings
