Alipay’s annual “Collect Five Blessings” campaign went live in mainland China in the early morning of February 1, 2021. Users can tap in to participate directly from the Alipay home page.
Ways to collect the five blessing cards include using AR to scan the Chinese character “Fu” (福), writing “Fu” to receive a handwritten blessing card, finding energy and tapping blessing balloons in Ant Forest (starts February 4), and fertilizing in Baba Farm to get blessing cards (starts February 7).
As in previous years, users can exchange blessing cards with each other. They can also look for lucky blind boxes in the blessing-giving apps listed below (and others) to open random blessing cards.
One notable detail this year is that, “as a tribute to medical workers, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association invited medical staff across the country to write ‘Fu’ about half a month earlier. In the end, more than 400,000 medical workers wrote it on their phones, and Alipay used its technology to combine them into a single ‘Fu’ character, which appears on the Dedication Blessing Card.”
