Aeroplan and Emirates have announced their official partnership, along with some details. Here’s a summary:
- Mileage earning: The chart for earning AC miles on EK flights is shown below.
- Award tickets: For now, AC award pricing on EK still follows the standard partner award chart, with required miles based solely on flight distance. Later, it will be updated to its own dedicated chart. Also, redeeming for EK award tickets will not come with especially high extra fees.
- Lounge access can be shared: AC members with 50,000 status and above can access the EK Business lounge in Dubai; conversely, EK Gold and above members can access AC lounges in Toronto.
Air Canada will now offer Emirates Business Class Lounge access in Dubai for its Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite members. Similarly, Emirates Skywards Gold and Platinum Elites will also get access to Air Canada lounges in Toronto.
If you value the inflight experience, using AC to redeem EK is a pretty good option. And AC points can be transferred from MR, UR, Capital One Miles, and Marriott, so the program has a fairly wide range of transfer partners.
