IHG’s new quarterly promotion, Accelerate, is out again. After logging in with your own IHG Rewards Club account, you can see the offer you received. IHG has always favored new members over existing ones, so long-time accounts generally shouldn’t expect too much. Newer members often get better offers, which is worth noting.

Eligible stays must take place between September 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017, inclusive.

Things to Note

  • You must register for the promotion first. Any stays before registration will not count.
  • Kimpton hotels, which are part of IHG, do not participate in this promotion, so stays at Kimpton will not count.
  • IHG award stays and Cash+Point bookings also do not count as qualifying stays.
  • Don’t forget to set your IHG account to earn IHG points. If you choose to earn airline miles instead, you will not be eligible for this promotion.
  • Employee rates, group rates, and other non-qualifying rates at IHG hotels do not count for this promotion.
  • Bookings made through online travel agencies (OTAs), such as Priceline and Expedia, generally do not qualify.

For me, the only worthwhile offer is the one that gives 5,000 IHG points for one night. The rest are pretty much worthless. Unless you already need the stays anyway, these offers probably won’t affect your hotel choice.
