Daily Getaway is a promotion organized by the U.S. Travel Association, featuring deals from major car rental companies and hotel groups. This year’s Daily Getaway starts on April 10 and runs for five weeks. So far, the promotion schedule for the first two weeks has already been released. Based on past years, Daily Getaway really does feature some outstanding deals, such as Hyatt points sold at around 1c/p, though they also tend to sell out extremely quickly. Below is an overview of the deals that have already been announced. Each day’s sale starts at 1 pm Eastern Time.
Week 3: 4/24-4/28
4/24 Carnival Cruise Line gift card sale
These are sold at 15% off, and you can buy up to three $100 gift cards. Unless you already have a cruise planned and know you can use them, we do not recommend buying.
4/25 Avis rental certificate sale
Avis rental certificates are priced at $30 each, and you can buy up to seven. These certificates can be used at any location in the U.S. (excluding the NYC metro area), Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to cover one day of base rental and mileage charges. They may provide decent value at some high-cost locations, but note that using rental certificates could cause you to lose your credit card’s rental car insurance coverage.4/26 Mandalay Bay hotel package

Choice is a lower-end hotel chain, and this deal sells 40,000 points for $160, or 0.4c/p. We value Choice Privileges points at around 0.6c/p, so this is a fairly strong offer. If you regularly stay at Choice hotels, this could be worth considering. In addition, Choice points can be transferred to Alaska Airlines (AS), UA, AA, and AC at a 5:1 ratio. Among these, AS is especially attractive, effectively letting you buy miles at 2c/p, which is almost as good as buying SPG points on sale and then transferring them to AS (1.96c/p).Week 4: 5/1-5/5
5/1 Universal Orlando ticket sale
This Universal Orlando ticket promotion offers three package options. Two 3-day tickets cost $535 and can be used on any three days within seven consecutive days, with an approximate value of $630.
A four-person, four-day, three-night vacation package costs $2,642. It includes round-trip airfare for four people (must depart from a Major Airport), four days of park tickets, and a three-night hotel stay (one room). There is also a VIP package: a guided one-day Universal Orlando tour for up to twelve people, including complimentary breakfast and two meal vouchers, priced at $3,500.
5/2 Hilton points sale
Hilton points are being sold at 0.48c/p. Our verdict in two words: do not buy. After Hilton’s recent devaluation, the points are now worth roughly 0.4c/p, so there is generally no reason to buy at this price. Hilton also frequently sells points on its own website at 0.5.5/3 Caesars hotel group sale

Marriott gift cards are on sale at 20% off, so readers who can use them may want to consider buying. These gift cards can be used at Marriott and Ritz-Carlton properties, but based on the terms, they apparently cannot be used at SPG hotels. Also note that gift cards cannot be used to book prepaid rates; you have to book a flexible rate and then pay with the gift card at the hotel.

Orbitz, a travel site owned by Expedia, is selling a $1,000 coupon code for $650. There are many restrictions: it can only be used for hotel bookings, and you must spend more than $1,000 in a single transaction to use it. 5/8 Fairment hotel certificate sale
There are two options: Hawaii and San Francisco. Six hotel certificates in Hawaii cost $2,178, while three hotel certificates in San Francisco cost $874. Both include breakfast for two, and the pricing is fairly good. In addition, Fairment is much more flexible than those Vegas hotel groups, since these certificates can be used separately.
